Supporting Emotional, Mental and Physical Safety for Youth in our Community & Scholarship Winner Recognition
Dear PfA Sponsors and SMUSD Families,
Thank you to all the families who attended the PfA Speaker Event and Scholarship Winner Recognition on April 26 at the Crowell Public Library. If you were unable to attend the event but would like to watch a recording, you can use the link below. In addition to recognizing PfA's first ever SMHS graduating senior scholarship recipients, SMUSD Wellness Counselors Tonya El-Hendi and Peijen Chen facilitated a productive and moving conversation on how families can support emotional, mental and physical safety for teens and children at home. They were joined by Superintendent Dr. Linda de la Torre and San Marino Police Department Chief Incontro who spoke on their commitment to fostering emotional safety for our students through the San Marino Wellness Centers, as well as the close partnership between SMUSD and the San Marino Police Department to ensure the physical safety of each school campus.
Thank you as well to SMHS Media Arts students for recording and editing the presentation.

We hold events to bring experts together with our San Marino community to learn more about drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and other health and safety related concerns.
PfA provides resources for additional information about health and safety issues that affect the youth of San Marino and their families.
